TIPS FOR HOLDING A SPEECH AND/OR PRESENTING A GROUP PROJECT

1. INTRODUCTION:

Introduce your group (you don’t need to introduce yourself one by one)  and introduce the TOPIC  you are going to talk about. Think of some expressions you can use for this introductory section.

When introducing  the INDEX, try to summarize briefly the most important sections within your project but DON’T READ THE INDEX! Just try to express yourself in your own words.

Remember:  Introducing topic and index in your own words.

2. CONTENT S:

Use KEY WORDS on your power point documents and develop the ideas orally. It is very important that you UNDERSTAND what you are talking about and that you express it in your OWN WORDS. Use only a DRAFT (borrador) to help you remember.

We often try to memorize things and we don’t know what they mean or we don’t really understand them. So, please think……… if you don’t understand what you mean, who will do it?

Remember: WHAT  am I going to say and HOW? MEMORIZE JUST IDEAS.

For developing a topic, this chart of CONNECTORS will be useful for you:

3. CLOSING SECTION:

Concluding your project is as important as introducing it. Be thankful for everybody’s attention and show interest in answering anybody’s questions.
